WZR-HP-G300NH and port forwarding

I'm trying to forward port 22 from my router to enable ssh access from the internet.  I create a port forwarding rule that looks like this:

strifeSSH: AirStation’s Internet IP Address         SSH(TCP Port:22)

                   192.168.11.2                                          SSH(TCP Port:22)

I'm assuming this will forward internet traffic from my router, which has a ddns address to my server which is at 192.168.11.2.  This is a gentoo linux box running openSSH.    Is this a bad assumption?

I can ssh to this servers from both a wired windows client using putty and a wireless linux client on the LAN side.

I keep getting connection refused when I try to ssh to my ddns address though.

This has always worked for me in the past using my linksys and asus routers running both stock firmware and dd-wrt.  I've had nothing but problems with this buffalo router and plan on scrapping it in the near future, but for now I could use this ssh connectivity.

Any thoughts?  I'm running 1.65 firmware.  I've done a factory reset on it and power cycled it multiple times.

Re: WZR-HP-G300NH and port forwarding

Okay,

this was my fault.... when I test from inside the LAN using 'ssh ***.***.org' I get the connection refused.  When I test from outside... say at work... The forward goes through.  I know with other routers both usually work.  It seems that with the G300NH it doesn't.

sounds like a fw rule you could try messing with that if its a big deal.

Re: WZR-HP-G300NH and port forwarding

I've noticed when you use your dyndns address inside the LAN to connect to it routes to the router. So when you SSH you are in fact trying to connect to non-existent SSH on the router.

This is another issue with this router.
