Hi all. I just bought the above on eBay. (eBay listing said OS 10.4 and 10.5 compatible.) Nice little unit that was up and running on my G-5 Tower, 1.6 Ghz/3 Gig RAM as soon as I had opened the Mac, plugged the card in, closed the Mac and started up. (Took longer to get it out of the 5 layers of packing used to send it from Japan to Las Vegas.)
Immediately recognized my Airport Extreme Base Station under OS 10.4.11. The problem is that when I restarted under OS 10.5, it wouldn't connect. It is recognized as being in the PCI slot and under Network as Airport. All great, but when I click to turn on Airport, it doesn't. (little radar screen stays empty) The turn on Airport button returns as if I hadn't clicked it and it will not connect to the internet via my Airport Extreme to cable modem connection. (Connects flawlessly under OS 10.4.11)
Any thoughts, or anyone have a workaround?
Settings in Network are the same for both OS's.
I know this card says it is for Windows, but it obviously can work with Mac as demonstrated under OS 10.4.11. The price is right for this card so that if I can get it working with OS 10.5, I will buy more. I have 14 Macs with empty PCI slots that are at present networked via ethernet cable through hubs and routers to the ethernet port on my Airport Extreme Base Station. I'd really like to be able to remove all of the cable clutter and be pure wireless. It's a pain to move a work station and then have to reroute cat 5 cable to make it work.
Thanks in Advance
D.P. Allen
