WAN Port Failure WHR-GP-G54

[ Edited ]

I am having a problem in that the WHR-GP-G54 WAN port seems to have failed. This is the second brand new WHR-GP-G54 that has had this problem. Both routers worked great for about two weeks, then the WAN port suddenly failed. The router will not recognize my internet cable (the light does not come on, firmware shows no WAN cable). It does recognize the cable, however, when it is plugged into one of the LAN ports. My internet works when it is plugged directly into the computer, and with 2 different Linksys routers I have tried. The BRI-Auto switch is set to Auto, and I have tried to reset it, to no avail. As this is the second time I have had this problem, I am wondering what the problem is.

Anybody have any advice?

Is there a hardware problem with these routers WAN ports, a firmware upgrade that might help, anyway the port became disabled, etc?

Re: WAN Port Failure WHR-GP-G54

Thats very unlikely... these routers have been around for several years, and I've only seen that problem a couple times. Could you PM me the serial numbers of the units so I can look into this?

My stuff: Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 + WHR-G125 in WDS

PLEASE post the Model Number and Firmware Version of your device! We can help a lot more with that info.
