The method of updating DTCP-IP between Linkstations and the DTCP-IP server has been changed. If you are seeing the popup DTCP error message and have firmware 1.60 or higher, you need to reboot your linkstation and re-click on update DTCP-IP. You may need to clear your browser cache or change to a different browser if still seeing the message.

Urgent notice to users with the TeraStation 5000 series line of NAS devices in iSCSI moderunning either firmware version 2.10 or 2.11
Buffalo recently became aware of issues that affect the TeraStation 5000 series line of NAS devices in iSCSI mode running either firmware version 2.10 or 2.11 that could result in data loss. To ensure the integrity of your data, it is critical that customers currently using any TeraStation 5000 series NAS as an iSCSI target perform the following steps:
• Back up your data • Do not reboot the TeraStation • Install updated firmware 2.12 immediately (link)
At that point it will again be safe to restart your TeraStation. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you need any assistance, please contact our technical support team at 866-752-6210. ------
Notice for Linkstation owners, LS-V and LS-X series. If you have Firmware 1.61-to update to 1.62, this requires a manual download of the 1.62 firmware from the Buffalo Technology download site: http://www.buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/downloads
Select your product, save the file, run the .exe file, then select your linkstation to be upgraded to 1.62. Do not turn off the linkstation during the upgrade. Always use a wired connection when upgrading firmware (not wireless) and always back up your data prior to installing firmware on any storage product.
Once finished upgrading, you may need to clear your browser's cache, or press F5 on a PC, to be able to see the Linkstation GUI firmware update screen.
