Hello,
My linksation LS-500GL seem to not response anymore. After trying to format my disk, it's no visible by nasnavigator. When I startup the linkstation, there is now a error led blinking 4 times. It seem to be the fan wich not working. I test it on my computer. Its woorking ok. Then i try to do a hard reset without succes.
Then i I try to made the TFTP boot recovery according to this page http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/FAQ-3-of-
When I made a portscan, the linkstation is here on the adresse 192.168.11.150 but there is no tcp port open. May-be it's the reason. Is it dead?
I don't know what to do, can you help me?

Try booting it into EM mode and force flashing the firmware.

If it boots into EM mode, you should be able to do a firmware update..
Things to check:
-Makes sure you did a force update (ie changed the ini file correctly)
-Make sure you have the correct firmware
-Make sure you are hardwired not wireless
-**Since it went to its default IP address, make sure your computer has an IP that will work with the LS**
-The #1 reason the updater will not find the unit is because of firewalls/security software
If it still doesn't work the only option is an RMA (assuming the drive is under warranty)
