I have just come back from holidays and my Linstation Pro Duo 4TB drive (LS-WVL104) doesnt seem to be working.
The unit is 2 months old and before I went on holidays last week it was all working fine. Today when I boot the machine the blue power light comes on as normal but I cant find it from the NAS Navigator nor the shared drive. My IP address to log into the machine is also not loading.
I have no error lights coming on (just the static blue power light). I have tried to reset the device using the function key but after leaving it for a while it is just the same (ie powered on but not being picked up)
I have checked and my firewall isnt affecting it. I also tried to connect to it from other machine but again have the same problem. I can get access to my other linkstation (LS-WXLA22) fine, but its my backup device.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this - hopefully allowing me to get access to my data - as the last backup I have is over a month ago.
thanks

Try this reset process, perhaps you did not do it correctly. You could try this reset process and perhaps even a new ethernet cable.
Please switch the unit to off and wait until the lights are off.
Hold the function button for 10 seconds while it is still off.
While still holding the function button after 10 seconds please flip the switch to on.
Once the function light begins to blink release the function button and press it again for one second.
Wait until the power light is solid and this will restore your unit.
This process will not delete any data and will only restore the admin password and set the IP address back to DHCP.
If that does not work then you will want to plug the unit directly into your Pc using the reset process again and see if you can see it with the Nas Navigator at that point.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I did the restore as you said and the power and function lights started to blink alternatively. After a few secs the power light starts to blink then came on solid.
After this I got an info/error blinking light for a few secs along with the sound of hard drives spinning. Then low and behold my drive was found in the NASNavigator!!
Looks like that the prob was that when I booted all my network devices up today another device had took the static IP address I had set for the NAS drive.
But anyway all the data is still there which is good, but in addition to resetting the admin password it also deleted my backup schedules.
I had this NAS drive do incremental backups to another NAS drive once a month. While I can easily create another schedule is there a way I can make the backup pick up where it left off i.e. only backup files that have changed rather than do a complete backup to start again? Will the machine look inside the existing backup folder on NAS drive 2 to see what files are in there before doing a backup from the main NAS drive? Or will it mean that the new backup schedule will need to copy over the entire contents from NAS drive 1 first?
Thanks very much for your input!

How are you doing this backup and what brand is the 2nd NAS?
