LinkStation Quad Wont Boot - Power LED 6 RED Flashes

Hi,

My Linkstation Quad (Model LSQ1.0TL/1D) lost power and when I cycled the power back on Power LED is showing 6 red flashes but the disk lights are all green. From reading the forums it seems I should download TFTPboot and use this to connect to the unit to fix the problem. Can you confirm this solution works for my unit?

Also when I try to download the software at the link provided here

the link doesn't work. Can someone provide a the correct link

Thanks

Re: LinkStation Quad Wont Boot - Power LED 6 RED Flashes

Scott,

The information present there is correct, we do apologize as seeing there was a temporary interrupt in our FTP server causing it to go down for a short while, the server is back and responsive, so please try the solution, but prior to the TFTP boot I would recommend following the steps provided here http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/FAQ-2-of-3-Force-Firmware-update-procedure-please-read-this...

Re: LinkStation Quad Wont Boot - Power LED 6 RED Flashes

Hi,

Many thanks for the quick response.

The Force Firmware Update procedure failed with the message "Unable to locate LS-QD that requires updating"

The TFTPBoot procedure worked as expected.

I can now see the files on the share but the unit is still not showing up in NAS Navigator.

Do I still need to update the firmware?

Cheers

After the TFTP it came with the firmware for the unit.  If you cannot locate it please download the lastest firmare for it and update the unit.  Also download the newest version of Nas Navi 2.24.
