LinkStation HD HG300LAN Rebooting Issue

My LinkStation HD HG300LAN works fine, but if I switch it off, I can't turn it back on again for about 30 minutes.  It just refuses to boot up.

Is this by design, or is there a setting I can change somewhere?  Firmware is 1.63.

Thanks for any replies.

Re: LinkStation HD HG300LAN Rebooting Issue

This is not by design. It sounds like something in the hard ware is failling. I would suggest a backup as soon as possible.

Re: LinkStation HD HG300LAN Rebooting Issue

Thanks for the reply.

The LinkStation is backed up each night, so no worries there.  It's always shown this behaviour (several years of use), but I agree with you.  I suspect a replacement will be needed soon.  Any recommendations (don't need huge amounts of storage)?

Re: LinkStation HD HG300LAN Rebooting Issue

If your looking for a single drive then I would suggest either the LS-XHL or LS VL (if speed is important). If you want a dual unit for RAID then I would suggest either the LS-WXL or the LS-WVL(again for speed).
