hi there, i am a newbie to NAS drives, i do know some but not a lot.
anywhoo, i recently bought a nas drive of my mate and he was getting the red light blink 6 times, firmware corrupt.
so i read around and came across FAQ 3 and 2, i successfully did 3 but when i got to 2, the point where you launch the lsupdater program, i was getting the following error, "LS-CHL that needs updating wasnt found", i then did some searching and have come across people with the same problem, the problem was that they were using a v2 program to update a v1 nas drive. i've tried both firmwares on the download page. and niether work. the blue screen Download Freeware and the red screen and get the same error.
what am i doing wrong, i have a feeling that when you switch over from faq 3 it says "don't forget to remove your static IP address" and then on 2nd faq it says
"IP Address of NAS: 192.168.11.150
IP Address of computer/server: 192.168.11.xxx (where xxx is anyvalue between 0 and 255 but NOT 150)"
i've tried playing around the local area connection settings but no luck, any one have any ideas, mostly appreciated
