Hi All,
I'm wondering if you can help me. I have recently recieved an LS-QL and I have receieved one before and managed to upgrade the firmware no problems. When I went to upgrade the firmware on this box however I noticed that the firmware is suggesting it is not an LS-QL but an LS-WHGL. The LSupdater.exe will not recognise the unit because it doesn't recognise it as an LS-QL. The TFTP does not manage to find the unit on the ip address 192.168.11.150 or the 169 address which is used for the LS-WHGL TFTP. The LSupdater for LS-WHGL unit does recognise it but as it is in chinese or some unknown language I cannot understand the prompts. I know basically how to select the debug selections and then hit what i think is update but it doesn't seem to update it to the correct firmware. I am wondering if anyone has had this problem before and if there is an easy solution? Perhaps there is a hard reset for the firmware to bring it back to its original firmware state?
I currently have 4 1 tb hdd installed in this unit. I have tried hitting the function button 6 seconds before powering on but it doesn't seem to help, the unit thinks it is in emm mode already. When I turn the unit on the blue LED is on constantly.
Any information would be very helpful as I am keen to get this box up and running.

Well it seems I have resolved my problem. My supplier asked me if I had used a drive from a previous NAS and that was in fact the case. Inadvertantly I had used a drive from an old LS-WHGL and this is where the firmware inconsistancy was coming from. After removing this I was able to use tftp to boot the nas and then update the firmware. I will have to remember this in future.
