Help! Even TFTP mode fails :-(

Can anyone help me. We have zapped all our disks with a Terastation Pro II iSCSI. I was trying to downgraded it to an SMB NAS and so wiped all the disks.  I have attempted several methods seen on this site.

METHOD 1

I connected to the device using a cross over cable and tried using the firmware updater program. I have tried using me PC on with an IP on the original subnet and using 192.168.11.151.  Both EM mode and out of it. I've added the lines to give the optioon of using debug mode with the updater, [specialFlags]

debug = 1

the PC is running windows 7. I have firewall disabled and compatibility set to Windows 2000. The update never detects the terastation.

METHOD 2

SO I have tried using the TFP update tool, again in and out of EM and with IP's on the known subnet and 192.168.11.151/24.  The TFTP server sits there happily listening but the terastation never connects.

I accidently set the PC to 192.168.11.150 and got an IP conflict and yet when I set the PC to 192.168.11.151 I can't ping the terastation.  As you can imagine at this stage I just be happy to get the ISCSI image back on the device.  I have tired the iscsi image too.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Help! Even TFTP mode fails :-(

If your errors or issues persist I would suggest contacting your regional technical support.  If a TFTP doesn't save the device generally that's the last resort.

Greatest explanation of the basic internet function.

I chuckled at this, but in all honesty it is useful for forum posting. Not just here, but every forum.
