Failed to operate disk. Please resubmit after restart ERROR on LS-QVL

Been running my LS-QVL for a week now. I initially installed a 2 TB hard drive. I wanted to add a second hard drive. Installed a 1 TB drive, saw it as "removed" at systems>storage tab. Pressed "format". This error repeats several time.

Failed to operate disk. Please resubmit after restart

I already searched Google and tried out the several fixes posted on this website. No luck. I only wanted to add additional storage, not RAID at all. This is supposed to be a very simple task.

I have another NAS of another brand, popular model. I formatted the drive in the other NAS hoping I could get it to work. I inserted to the LS-QVL again but still the "Failed to operate disk. Please resubmit after restart" keeps popping up.

I removed the first drive and inserted the new drive. The red lights turned on, pressed function but the red function light did not blink at all. Repeated the procedure several times. Still did not work. I have the latest firmware 1.56.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I have the Quad Pro version.

How many drives are you trying to use at once?  What are the specs of each drives you are trying to use?

First drive is 2TB, the second drive I'm attempting to install is 1TB. I do not want raid at the moment.

Delete all partitions off of the second drive and try again.

I do not work for Buffalo Technology. My advice is my own and comes from my experience working with the products.

It's been almost a month since I last posted

Failed to operate disk. Please resubmit after restart ERROR

still no working response from Buffalo. I searched for reviews on Youtube and Google and did not see anything regarding this issue. I will be making a Youtube review of this product in order to help people decide better when buying a NAS.

Re: Failed to operate disk. Please resubmit after restart ERROR on LS-QVL

Just happened to me...

LS-QVL Firmware 1.54 user with 3x2T WD Green Drive...

Placing a blank Drive on Bay 3 on my end causes this error...

what i did was:

Remove Disk in Drive bay 3 then connect to PC (DISK 3)

In Disk Management, it seems that the firmware partitioned by disk into 6 partitions... Delete all partitions and placed back in rack

Remove Disk in Drive bay 2 (DISK 2)

Insert DISK 3 in drive bay 2.

   Format using the web gui.

Remove Disk in Drive bay 2.

Place DISK 2 back on drive bay 2 and DISK 3 on drive bay 3

Both drives will have a 'REMOVED' status, format both disk

DISK2 and DISK 3 are now working
