Drivestation USB 3.0 issue

Hello,

 

First of all, excuse me for my bad english, I will try to be as understandable as possible.

 

I bought an HD-HX1.OTU3 one year ago, Skype download first try all was ok, nice stuff, I put the Drivestation on the side for a few month (without using it), and suddenly, it wasn't recognize by any computer (I tried with w seven, vista, mac os X), and it became very noisy (weird and very high sound), and a purple light was on, I waited a bit (doesn't need it yet), and now it's always the same problem, I can't even restore it.

 

Does someone have an idea of the issue ?

It sounds like the HDD has failed or is failing.  Have you been connecting through a USB hub?  If the drive was knocked around or dropped, it could have caused damage to it.
