Hi everybody,
approx 1,5 years ago I bought the Linkstation LS XH1.0TL. It worked wel for 2 months untill I updated to firmware V1.42. After updating (updating seemed to go without problems) I had to confirm it with my password, but the LS did not recognize my password anymore, so I wasn't able to use my brand new LS. By means of this forum I got it into EM mode to reinstall the firmware but also this the LS doesn't allow me.
I called Buffalo support at that time and they told me this was a familiar problem and that they only had a solution with a Windows PC. I'm working on a macbook. Also all data would be lost with their solution.
Since then I didn't use it anymore and decided to wait for a solution in time. Now I want to use it again, but I can still not find how to. The NASnavigator (V2.26) gives this failure:
LS-XHLEC8 heeft fout of informatie.(has a failure)
I52: Er is een onbekende fout opgetreden. (unknowm failure)

The led light is permanently amber (which indicates there are new firmware (of course after 2 years...).
I can not do anything, the webbrowsers asks for my password, but doesn't recognize mine nor the default password.
Can anyone help me. I don't mind if the data on the hard drive gets lost anymore, and if worst come to worse I can borrow someones Windows PC.
Thanks,
Dennis

Yesterday evening I have succesfully update the NASnavi2 to version 2.43. I tried to force the firmware update according to step 2of 5 of the FAQ. This did not work because I still needed to confirm with the admin password, which is the problem. It changed after the last firmware update to something I don't nknow.
Also the resetting procedure (10 secconds on the function button and then power on etc..) did not reset the password to the default password.
I'm running out of options here, can someone help me?

Use this file to recover the unit.

Hi there,
I have the same problem, except completely different.
My product is the LS-CH1 and the firmware I updated to is 1.60 (coming from 1.56)
The update process ran smoothly and after a while the displayed step was "restarting". After 3 hours I was in doubt that it was still restarting so, ignoring the warning not to, I refreshed the page.
Now the orange LED blinks 2/5 (according to the code list that means "updating") and it just sits there humming with no accessability.
Can I use that file too to recover my LS?
Cheers

In this case I am tempted to open my own thread. :)
