Backup utility stuck in recursive loop - Solved

[ Edited ]

Hi, I'm trying to back up my Win 7 drive with 100GB of data onto a HDPCD500U2/B-US 500GB ministation using the Buffalo Tech backup utility. It's getting caught in Win 7's C:\Users\All Users\Application Data\Application Data...etc recursive junction loop and maxes out the backup drive. Is there an updated version of the Buffalo Tech backup utility that can ignore this loop? The folder is invisible to selection for exclusion even with Show Hidden Files on. Thanks!

Edit: Of course, I solved it only minutes after posting this, as is typical. I used the steps at the following link on the Application Data directory, which blocked the recursive loop.

Re: Backup utility stuck in recursive loop - Solved

Thanks for the post.  I haven't run into this problem myself yet, but I'm glad for the fix should it come up.

I do not work for Buffalo Technology. My advice is my own and comes from my experience working with the products.
