Has anyone successfully used an external antenna to extend the wirelless range of a WHR-HP-G300N router? The docs show that the antennae on the router are upgradeable, yet there's a dearth of info on the Buffalo site re: antennae that are compatible with this router.
Too - I'm running the WHR-HP-G300N with DD-WRT firmware ... is the consensus that this firmware has better/worse/same coverage as Buffalo's "user-friendly" firmware? Would changing the router from NG-Mixed to BG-mixed mode (dropping from 5Ghz to 2.4Ghz) help extend the range at all?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

bump...would appreciate some info from the Buffalo techs...

Any of the external antennae on our website will work with this router, or for that matter, any external antenna that has an RP-SMA connection should work as well.
A "pigtail" adapter may be needed to change from one type of connector to the RP-SMA style connector,
Specifically, the WLE-2DA is a high-gain directional antenna designed to be used with the WHR-HP-G300N, as it has 2 RP-SMA connectors on it for the 2 connectors on the router.

great, thank you - question re: this antenna's coverage, is it an ellipsoid, or do these directional antennae have a different coverage profile?

Here is the antenna coverage.

fantastic, thank you! may I request the same coverage graph for...
- the standard antenna of the WHR-HP-G300N
- WLE-HG-NDR omnidirectional antenna
Incidentally, have you folks an estimate of how much % increase in range the WLE-2DA antenna would provide over the standard antennae of the WHR-HP-G300N?

I don't have a coverage graph for that one.
Also, I do not have a comparison in range difference.
Sorry.
