WD 2.5TB USB disk
« on: March 31, 2012, 02:33:03 PM »

I'm using LS-320GL (F/W 1.15) and I connected a new WD Elements 2.5 TB USB drive (WDBAAU0025HBK-NESN).  I still cannot use the disk because I don't see it in the "Shared Folders" page.

Is anyone successfully using a 2.5 TB USB disk with LS-320GL or a similar Buffalo product?  Is there a limitation on the disk size?

The part that is working

The WD disk is recognized within "Disk Management > USB Settings > USB Disk 1".

It says "Western Digital / Ext HDD 1021 / 2328.8 GB".

The part that is not working

However, in other pages like "Disk Management > USB Disk Information > USB Disk 1",

it says "Not Obtained" for "Total Capacity" and "File Format".

"Shared Folders" doesn't list "USB Disk 1".

Things I tried

  • Formatting the new drive with XFS
  • Restarting LS-320GL
  • Unmounting the disk (and restarting)

Thanks,

Komei

The LS-GL has a limitation that you can only use a USB HDD upto 2TB.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Thank you very much for a quick reply.  I think I will get another drive (2TB) then :(

Is it documented outside this forum somewhere?  I had searched for it and couldn't find it.  I guess I should have posted this question *before* buying the external drive ...

Thank you!

No its not, this unit was discontinued before 2TB USB HDD even existed.
