computer require to format Buffalo ministation when connecting with PC

I use buffalo ministation for more than 1 year, it works fine until today, the buffalo ministation drive can not open, computer require to format this drive before I can use it, I have stored a lot of my data inside, how can recover my data?

Most likely the file system on the drive has failed. Have you tried this drive with any other Pc's, USB ports and or computers? It may just need to be formated to restore it to working order. Did you not have a back up?
