The web admin page runs on HTTP: TCP port 80. Forwarding this port will allow you to access the web admin from outside your network, however i would recommend forwarding a random high WAN port to the LAN port 80 for security reasons. Once that's done, all you need to know is your public IP address and the port number, and access "http://<public_ip>:<port_number>/", for example: http://209.85.171.100:80/

Hi

I have setup acces to the admin page and all has been working OK for several months.

The issue I am having is that everytime I remove the extetrnal USB drive I am no longer able to accees either the admin or web remote access pages. I am able to access the linksys router so I know the IP and port forwading are correect.

It seems the only way to make it work again is to power down the NAS then everything works normally again. A reboot does not help

It needs to shut down completely for it to work.

Any suggestions as to why this is happeniong?

I am using a 4 Bay Linksataion Quad LS-QVL/E-AP
