2 Macs, one Terastation and Time Machine?
« on: October 26, 2011, 10:46:01 PM »

I've got an IMac and a Macbook pro, home networked through the Airport which has the Terastation hooked to it via an ethernet cable.  I followed the manual to set Time Machine up on the IMac, and it's good to go.

The question I have is if I set the Macbook Pro's Time Machine to the same storage device, will it overwrite the IMac's?  I don't see the provision to make more than one Time Machine folder on the Terastation, so if I use the same one, I need to change the MAC address every time before I back up?  Is there a way to make this transparent so I don't have to change settings every time I want to back up, Time Machine just runs as advertised?  I want to make sure I don't jack up the IMac's settings or backup as it's the one I'm more concerned with.

Thanks for the help.  I searched the forum and couldn't find anything.
