Linkstation Pro - Accessing USB drive
« on: September 11, 2011, 12:26:32 PM »

I have attached a USB drive to my LinkStation Pro.

It is showing in the disk management and shared folder management pages. I can access and view files on the USB drive.

However if I try and write files I get and error - access is denied .he USB drive is formatted NTFS. This is the same with access controls off and with access explicity set to read/write.

What do I need to get write acces to the drive?

Linkstations are not able to write NTFS.

Read the manual, there is a discussion about file systems.

Personally I prefer EXT3 for the USB drive.

Thanks for the reply.

I've now formatted the disk as XFS and all is working OK.

I did not pick up this restriction from my reading of the manual - thanks again for your help.
