LS-WX2.0TL/R1 I25
« on: September 29, 2011, 12:20:28 PM »

I have an I25 error on my Linkstation Duo. I turned the power switch from "auto" to "off" but it still won't turn off. I tried resetting it by holding down the Function button for 15 seconds. Nothing happened. It still blinks out the I25 error and Navigator doesn't see the NAS. What do I need to do?

How long has it been doing that for? It says its updating its firmware. Did you start the update process?

Yeah, I did. The Updater said it was at the rebooting stage, but wasn't able to communicate with the NAS anymore. It's been giving this I25 for a good 24 hours now.

Oh I see. It must not have been able to reboot. Go ahead and unplug it, plug it back in and then turn it on. You might get an error but there is nothing else we can do at this stage.

Ok, after about 15 minutes, it finished booting up, and is in EM mode now. Navigator can see it. Should I try updating the firmware again?

That is correct. You will want to update the firmware on the unit. Make sure that you are doing this with a wired connection to your network and not a wireless one.

Ok, I wired a connection to my router with my laptop, and updated the firmware again. The firmware seemed to have updated, the NAS rebooted, and after about 15 minutes, gave the I25 error again, and the Updater tried for about 40 minutes to get a response from the NAS, but didn't. Finally, I told it to quit trying and got the message "There was no response from LinkStation. Updating is aborted." Navigator isn't finding it now. I'm back where I started. It wouldn't shut down so I unplugged it, plugged it back up and started it again. And it's giving me I25 still. What should I do?

I would remove disk two, reboot again and then try the firmware updater. If that fails, put disk 2 back in and take out disk 1 and try again. If both of those fail then it needs to be replaced.

When I tried one, it booted up in EM mode. The Updater said it couldn't confirm the partition or something like that. Whatever the case, it wouldn't even really start the updating process.

When I tried the other hard drive, it went back to giving me the I25 error and is not found by Navigator or Updater.
