Linkstation Pro Duo or LinkStation Duo???
« on: September 18, 2011, 09:32:57 AM »

Hi I was wondering if you can help as I am getting conflicting information from across the web.

I currenty own a Buffalo Linkstation Pro Duo 2TB (Model: LS-WV2.0TL/R1)

I am looking at purchasing another and naturally assumed that the 'Pro' on the name of this device made it better/newer/higher spec that the plain old 'Duo'

The web reviews etc I have read seem to both support this train of thought and also contradict it. Also the model number for the Linkstation Duo (LS-WX2.0TL/R1) would indicate that it may be newer as the 'X' comes after 'V' indicating that it was named after the 'Pro' also indicating it is newer and thusly likely the more superior model.

Can anyone actually clear this up for me so that I can better understand the differences between the two models and ultimately which is newer and or superior from a specification/abilitiy? perspective???

I thank you in advance.

The only differnce between the units is the processor.

The Linkstation Duo LS-WXTL/R1 has (i think) a 1GHz processoe

The Linkstation Pro Duo LS-WVTL/R1 has an upgraded 1.6 GHz processor.
