Destination and source dropdown lists empty
« on: August 14, 2011, 05:45:44 PM »

I have a LinkStation Pro and want to configure backup to a plugged in USB drive. I made sure the drive has backup enabled and create a new backup job. However, the dropdown lists to select both the source and destination folders are all empty. Why is that; how can I select the share to backup and the USB drive to backup to?

By the way, I did enable backup on both the source shared folder and the destination USB drive...

What is the model number and firmware version of your unit?

Model: LS-VL7F0? (LinkStaion Pro; brand new)

Firmware: 1.37 (DTCP-IP:1.40-20110204)?

Ok. seems like nobody has a solution and I can't find one either after days trying. So I'm returning this thing; a NAS that can't backup itself without me doing it manually every time and without a PC turned on is of no use. This is disappointing indeed.

I think that the problem is that source and destination really take an absurd long time to show up.

You expect the dropdown list to appear immediately but it takes 55 seconds for source and 1min16sec for destinations in my LS-WXL.

You are right! I have to say this lag is quite amazing...

Thanks for the info!
