Avast deleted the back up files in my Buffalo Hardisk
« on: August 03, 2011, 10:18:46 PM »

Right after i installed avast, I tried to access my backup files (mostly pictures and videos about 200GB of them) in the buffalo hd, avast automatically removed the files possibly to the virus chest. When i looked inside the chest folder, they are not there. however, i can tell that the actually stuff is still inside my 1TB buffalo hardisk because the used up space is still the size of files but the file that allow me to access them before are gone. is there anyway i can get them back or get to the files? perferably by not having anything to do with avast because it confuses me. Thank you very much in advance =)

Can you Dissable avast and try to reback up your files?

After the back up just be sure no other virus software would remove your files

Thank you Gindelli

How do I back up the files? I can't see and select the files. I think they are still in buffalo HD because the used space is about the size of the files I backed up. When I use cmd to look inside the HD the files are not there. Is there a way to make them show up?

BTW the model of the HD is enxternal HD drivestation LB1.0TU3
