Auto power still dogging me

I continue to have problems with auto power mode on my LS-CH2.0TL-V2, running firmware 1.43 (after updating the firmware, I did reset the device).

 

My first problem was that the unit wouldn't auto power on.

 

There are 2 Win7 machines that use NasNavigator to connect to this drive, and both frequently go into sleep mode.  I'm told that returning from sleep mode will NOT power up a "down" device.

 

Now, however, the problem seems to be that the drive never shuts off.  Does sleep mode mess that function up, too?

 

I chose this drive because I hoped the auto power mode could save me some energy/money.  Not happening, yet!

The Nas Navigator from my understanding was not ment to be used with the sleep or hibernate with a Pc. The Nas Navigator would have be to restarted upon waking up from sleep mode so the Nas Navigator would send the wake up packets to the Nas. When the Pc goes into sleep mode the Nas Navi never sends the sleep packets because the Nas Navi is not being turned off.
