Adding an External drive to a Cloudstor unit
« on: July 19, 2011, 07:15:14 AM »

Hi,

I have a 2TB  Buffalo Cloudstor unit, with two 2TB drives installed. it's a Non-Pro version of the device. I am trying to connect a MyBook USB external drive to the unit. I connected it via USB, and the USB drive lights up, but Not recognize by the Cloudstor unit. When I look under Storage with the Cloudstor interface the MYBook Disk is not seen. If I plug the MYBook into the computer the computer sees it.   What could be the problem?

Model CS-WX

Firmware: 1.01 build 1.21

Windows 7 SP1 64Bit

AMD Quad core 1.8

4GB Ram

Internet Explorer 8

What format is the Mybook in and is it a single or dual drive unit?

The drive is  format is exfat. Is that why it doesn't see it?  I added a another drive. A NTFS formated drive it sees it under storage says connected, but i can't access it in the Cloudstor website.  I see it if  i type it in  run command, just not in the Cloudstor. Is that right?
