like to ask if i missed something in my settings. my router is netgear n150 and linkstation duo

- i followed all the manual instruction and also the router settings. This was setup at home.

so far i can:

- access the file through wifi and LAN (buffalonas.com)

- watch video and music streaming

- Nas can email me a report on maintenance

- can upload and download files, picture

- have check restriction login is ok

My problem start when you are outside your residence. when you are at the office, coffee shop other hotspot. using buffalonas.com, I was not able to access my account on buffalonas.com. my http://10.0.0.9:9000 appear on the screen. It maybe my problem. since this is a private or local IP address. (this IP address is ok when i am at home)  i think i need the global IP address?  Is there something i forgot to setup.

upnp - enable

ip address on NAS - 10.0.0.9

router IP address is 10.0.0.1

version is 1.41 (DTCP-IP:1.40-20110204)

DHCP is diable

used static IP address on router and Nas

used network service - AFP, FTP

using window xp and IPad2

So when you try to acces it via Buffalonas.com it goes to your local IP? What settings did you use for the webaccess? And have you forwarded your ports for your router?

Try at the coffee shop and the http:// 112.200.xxx.xxx:37681 (show my external IP: external port(37681) which is the settings in UPnP in the router and web access. External port is 37681 NAS internal port is 9000. I think these are default settings.
Web server is enable and port no. 81 tag folder is my web file. - not sure if these is necessary.
my router setting are ff:
Port forwarding (not sure if necessary. But I read it needs to be added) and not sure if it is correct
FTP start port 20 end port 21 server IP is my NAS IP which is 10.0.0.9
Buffalo NAS. 9000. 9000. IP is 10.0.0.9
HTTP. 80. 80. IP is 10.0.0.9
My router UPnP is enable
Active - yes. Protocol- TCP. Int. Port- 9000. Ext. Port-37681. IP- 10.0.0.9

Update the firmware to 1.42 and restore the unit through the system then restore/erase tab. Then set it back up again with auto configure firewall diasabled and use port 9000 for both internal and external.

The UPnP setting will be both 9000?
I went to firmware installation in buffalo linkstation for check for updates - it stated that I already have the latest firmware installed.
Saw the 1.42 version. Will update it again.

You want to disable the UPNP and use port 9000 for both internal and external.

I can now access the buffalo link station drive when I type the http://192.168.1.90:9000 and router setting is http://192.168.1.90:8080. We have two router in the building. One is assign 192.168.1.1 and the other is 192.168.1.90
But when I access the buffalonas.com the http:// went to the local IP address which is the 10.0.0.9 (second router). I need to tell buffalonas.com to access the the 192.168.1.90:9000.
What should be the settings?

It sounds like you have two NAT tables here. You need to forward the ports properly in both routers. Why do you have two routers on different IP address schemes like this? You should call the manufactures of your router to help you forward the ports properly.

We have two router one is in the ground floor and one is on the 12 flr. And they are interconnected by cables. I am trying to make them have the same local IP. 192.168.1.xxx both router have different manufacturer. So, I have to solve it myself.

I already setup the two routers. Now they have the same local IP address and I can access the buffalonas on both routers (wifi and wired).
What setting will It be, When I want to access outside my both router? Ex on coffee shop or oversea? When I open the buffalonas.com . The http://112.200.xxx.xxx:9000 the 112.200.xxx.xxx is the external IP or public ip address.
I am almost there. Hope you can give me some advice on this matter.

That is your public IP address. You're doing it right. What happens when you get to this point? does it just not display? Did you forward the ports correctly?

Yes, that is my public IP address. I just setup my main router that is connected on the dsl. The port forwarding 9000 is assigned to buffalo nas. Then the buffalonas.com have to reinstall to get the right IP address for my website. And now it is working fine. Its a little bit slow on when I am at the coffee shop. Maybe it will depend on the speed where I am connected at. - now it is working very well. Thanks for your help.
