Sharing USB drive with correct access attributes
« on: May 02, 2011, 07:05:06 AM »

Model: Linkstation LS-GL (320Gb) **quite an old device**

FW version: 1.15

Connected to Apple Airport Extreme

Configured via web interface

Have filled the 320Gb internal memory

have a USB connected external HDD and have been able to backup internal memory to external USB (called "usbdisk1"

Successfully added second USB to expand the primary memory (called "usbdisk2")

Both USB drives formatted as EXT3

usbdisk2 has allowed me to make folders on that drive but it now will not allow me to save files to it. also, when i performed the back up of internal plus usbdisk2, the backup errored at saving the file structure of usbdisk2

overall, I merely want usbdisk2 to appear as an extension to the internal memory but that seems to have failed.

hopeful of any suggestions of things to try.

Nathan

You could try formatting both of them in XFS and seeing if that will allow you to transfer files.
