intermittent hangs when opening or saving files

My client will be working in WordPerfect 12 and attempts to open a file on the server. The Open dialogue hangs and she has to restart WP12. Then the same file opens correctly. It is more disturbing when she goes to save a file..and the save dialogue hangs. Again, the same file will save correctly before and after the incident.

 

This is happening once or twice a day (she is working with a lot of documents over the course of a typical day.

 

Any suggestions or places to look will be appreciatted.

Sorry it took so long to get back information from the client. Yes, it does happen with other programs!

Are you using a mapped drive or just going through network places? If you try using a mapped drive it might fix the issue.
