Terastation PRO Total HDD size is not correct
« on: March 25, 2011, 12:41:09 AM »

Team,

I am using a Terastation PRO for the past 3 years. It is a 2 TB model with 4x500 GB Western Digital SATA 7200 RPM 16 MB cache. Before 3 months i got a failure in #3 harddisk and i faced the access denied error in some of the folders in the shares. So I have replaced the errored HDD to a new HDD Seagate 500 GB 7200 RPM 16 MB cache. Web admin panel shows me to restructure the RAID array and i have done the same and it has been done after 6 hours of time. Now the Terastation shows no error. But the total size of the HDD doesn't get increased. It should show approximately 1850 GB but still it shows 3 HDD size 1427 GB.

Please help me to get out of this problem

Thanks in advance..

What RAID is it in? It should show 3/4's of the total size if it is in RAID 5.

Thanks for your reply Jotin,

My product is using RAID5. As per your concern one 500 GB HDD size will not be shown in RAID 5.

But i see some of the folders in the shares are giving access denied error when i copy files in to it and that folders are showing that with no files in it.

Terastation LED's are showing all are ok.

Thank you
