The unit has be able to communicate with the internet. And yes, you must use 9000. And I would give the unit a name more personal to you and see if that helps.

I've changed the name to "Buffalo", and changed the port to 9000 both in the LS and the router.   However, I still get the same error message.

More questions:

1.   Does the name "Buffalo" need to be entered anywhere else?

2.   What is "BuffaloNAS.com", and where is it located?

3.   What other internet settings need checking?
