How to Safely Power Down
« on: March 18, 2011, 08:05:34 PM »

I have a Buffalo Technology LinkStation Live 1.0TB Shared Network Attached Storage LS-CH1.0TL with a USB drive attached to it. I need to remove the USB drive now that I have copied all my files to the Linkstation. (My USB drive is the wrong format for writing so will have to hook it up to another computer to use it for backups again. No, I don't want to reformat because I would be losing one of my backups then and it took days to copy to the Linkstation and I don't want to copy it back again!)

How do I safely remove the USB drive and/or power off the Linkstation? If I just turn it to 'off' will it do a shutdown routine?

Thanks

TM

press and hold the function button for 4 -5 seconds, the button will start to flash, then you can remove the USB HDD.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
