Hi,

I am not sure if anyone has had this problem but recently I have set up the linkstation with a timemachine share.  I used a direct connection via ethernet cable as this was faster for the initial timemachine backup.

This completed successfully, however when I switched the ethernet cable back to my wireless router, the timemachine can not detect the NAS.

In the finder I can mount the time machine share folder, I can manually access the NAS over the wireless but the timemachine can not. When I go to time machine preferences and try to reselect the disk, it does not come up as it did previously when I had the ethernet cable attached.

I have a macbook operating OS10.6.8 ( snowleopard I think)

has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution?

Any help is appreciated,

thanks!

Dan

Can you tell us the model number of your router?

Open "Time machine preferences" and click on "Select Disk"... do you see your share folder you have created for Time Machine whilst your mac is connected wirelessly?
