When is DTCP-IP used on LS-WXL?
« on: February 27, 2011, 08:42:43 PM »

Hi there,

I'm trying to use DTCP-IP on the LS-WXL, but I can't figure out when DTCP-IP is used.  I have upgraded the firmware to version 1.40, and set the DTCP-IP feature to 'Enabled' - however, all the content is still not protected.

When does the device use DTCP-IP?  (is it limited to some type of content?  Do I need to get the content on the device in a specific way?)

Is there a way to force it to always stream with DTCP-IP?

Cheers,

Andrew

Anyone have an answer to this?

Or another way to put it - in what situation did you find the storage device used DTCP-IP?  I just need one or two situations so I can verify its interop.

Cheers,

Andrew

DTCP-IP is not used in the USA. It is used in Japan and parts of Europe. If the DTCP-IP key becomes corrupt, then you may need to re-validate the key with the DTCP-IP update. If router settings are incorrect, or if there is a firewall present, this re-validation may not succeed. In this case, you may be able to resolve the issue by reloading the firmware.
