Web administration failed since today
« on: February 04, 2011, 02:26:21 AM »

Hi,

since today I cannot log in to the NAS web interface to enable the web service. It says username or password is wrong.

I've used acp_commander and telnet to check my admin password. It is correct, I changed it back to the original, disabled the windows (7) firewall and used the root account - no way. It's ever the same. I've tried the login from more than one workstation too.

What could be wrong?

Thanks in advance.

First using acp commander and telnet can void your warranty and is not supported.  Second, what model are you talking about?

Yes, using acp commander and telnet can void your warranty. To fix this issue you will want to download the firmware and follow FAQ 2 of 5 which is pinned at the top of the storage posts.

First, thanks for your help!  Because I've read some horror stories about firmware update and Japanese after taht, I've waited until today to do it...

Yesterday I have tried to reboot the NAS and the workstation to solve the problem - no help. After this night where both were down I can logon to the NAS web administration as if there were no problem at any time. What's that?

Again, thanks for your help. But - never change a running system.^^
