I can connect the webAccess from the internet, but i canīt connect bittorrent to download og upload.

My WebAccess looks like this:
External Port: 9000
NAS Internal Port: 9000
DHCP: Enabled

on my router the Primary DNS Server and the Secondary DNS Server, is the same on my Linkstation.

Donīt no what to do.? :x

Check this out http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/LS-WXL-uTorrent-Webui-Port9090-cannot-be-opened-from-remotely/m-p/49822#M30854

I suggest you assign static ip to your Linkstation.

Portforwarding is only to a specific ip.

Your Linkstation may keep getting a different ip from router after each reboot due to DHCP.

Hi HenrikJeppesen,

All those port forwarding settings need to be done on your router.

Feel free to ask me if you need more help.

Also you need to forward the port that uTorrent is using for communicating with other uTorrent clients.

Normally portforwarding for uTorrent is configured automatcially in your router if your uTorrent client has uPnP enabled.

But I find my uPnP router config don't work automatically.

You mentioned your problem is 0 seeding/eaching, I suspect something to do with router portforwarding not configured or some firewall rules blocking uTorrent traffic.

You can find out port that your uTorrent is using at uTorrent WebUI->Preferences->Connection.After that, configure that port number in your router. Router config steps specific to your gear can be found here http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm.

Cheers !

Could be also the tracker your torrent files are pointing to is down or not accessible.

Dear Henrik,

I am having exactly the same issues here, it's like the NAS BitTorrent client is blind!

Please note that I have received an e-mail from Buffalo Support:

Dear Evernote,
Thank you for contacting the Buffalo Helpdesk regarding your unit.
I have addressed your issue with our specialist product and I came to a conclusion that its will nor perform the same speed as in your PC, as you may know Bittorrent always update their software with PCs to perform in a better condition, but for the LinkStation its a special software was designed for the NAS and capabale of doing certain things but not full as the PC version. So the speed you getting is fine and cannot be compared with the PC version.
If you are unhappy we can downgrade to Firmware 1.34
If you require any further support please let us know.
Regards,
Mahmoud
Buffalo Technology Helpdesk,

Unfortunately this means that the NAS BitTorrent client simply does NOT work.

Hence I will also bump this post and mine till even if it may result in a ban.. until someone looks at this problem seriously because quite clearly Buffalo's support/helpdesk is pathetic.

Regards,

Evernote

Hello Evernote.

But my buffalo canīt download or upload. it stays on 0 seed 0 leed. Some say is my router, but i have make a static ip for my NAS and a port to the bitclient. It canīt not be true that the buffalo can not use the bitclient if it is in their description of the product. So a fake product sales.

I hope someone can help me.! :(

Henrik

Hi Henrik,

Understand your frustration. Let me try to help.

Need info from you :

1. Can you provide a screendump of Linkstation uTorrent WebUI->Preferences->Connection ?

2. Also, need a screendump of the Router screen where you configure portforwaring

3. Your Router error log

Can you also do this experiment, install uTorrent on your PC to do download and see if you get the same 0 seeding/leeching problem ?

I have partially same issue here with me, usually I use only the same two trackers when I download torrents, and on the computer itself is running fine, but if I use the buffalo LS bitclient, then it is only one of the trackers that will work, so maybe the issue is with your trackers, and not with you gear ...?
