1.0TB HD-HX1.0TU3-EU goes to sleep.
« on: November 25, 2010, 10:20:03 AM »

My unit powers down and will not come back to life unless I restart the computer. if I unplug the unit it starts to spin up then dies

I note a lot of complaints about various Buffalo units doing this (or similar), is this a 'feature' that I can get around or do I have a fault? The drive is dedicated to backing up my Lightroom 3 catalogue but is useless if I have to restart the computer before backing up the catalogue.

Try going to the downloads page for your unit and download the firmware for this unit.

Thanks John

However I'm a little reluctant to install that firmware as it erases the entire drive, to do this I'd need to buy another to backup the data to.

So my next question ....is this a definite fix to a known problem?
