Disk Check on new 4 Tb linkstation LS-QL.
« on: April 21, 2010, 09:59:41 AM »

I brought a few months ago a 4 TB linkstation and it is connected to my network with auto wake-up.

The unit is running in RAID 5 mode.

Most of the time the linkstation does not turn on automatically and i have to turn it on manually.

Last week the unit started in EM mode and i had to flash / upgrade the firmware which was successful.

When i turned on the unit a few days ago i received 3 flashing power light with the indication of ( format or disk check (disk 1 ) in progress and the unit is not available )

After about 5 hours nothing is changed and i had to leave home and therefore had to turn of the unit.

Does anybody knows how long the disk check should take and if this is normal.

I'm afraid that one disk is damaged and i don't hope that i lost data.

Can somebody please give me some advise.

I'm guessing it hasn't taken 6 months, no need to bump the thread.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

I have the same problem with my 4tb linkstaion - this is a new device (days old!) with no data of significance on it - at what point will I know if I have a faulty disk and need to return the unit? really don't want to wait a week!

Running with firmware 1.11

It could be a faulty disk. I would try following FAQ 2 of 5 but when you check force update you also want to check delete partition table and delete user config.
