What data throughput should I be seeing?
« on: September 09, 2010, 12:52:33 PM »

I have a Terastation Pro II - TS/HTGL/R5 NAS in Raid 5 configuration using a GBit ethernet connection.  What type of data throughput should I be seeing for this unit?  I ask becuse it seems to be very slow compared to what I would expect.... on the order of 19MB/sec when copying  2Gb file - 2 min 35 sec.  That seems very slow.  Anything I should be looking at or is this standard throughput for this unit?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

This is unfortunately what you get from this unit in a Gigabit network when using RAID5. You may want to try with Jumbo Frames in the Network tab (which have to be supported by the PC as well) but I don't expect a massive improvement.

If you want to improve performaces you need to chose a lower level of RAID.

19MB/s is about what id expect for this unit on a gigabit network.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
