LS-XHL Serious FTP issues!
« on: September 09, 2010, 08:31:43 AM »

Hi,

LS-XHL

firmware: 1.34 (DTCP-IP:1.22-20100113)

I have FTP enabled on one folder ("Upload") only.

When connecting to my linkstation with a FTP client (FileZilla, newest version running on Win7), the client showns "Disk1" as the "root".

On Disk1 3 directories are showned:

.hierophant

.midbeans

Upload

And the .midbeans folder is not protected in any way, the FTP user can access the files.

I think the .midbeans are created by the mediaserver software, but the "funny" thing is that I cant see that folder (or the .hierophant) in windows explore or the linkstation web admin interface. I didnt know about it until I used FileZilla.

What is goin on? This is a serious problem, as I cant use the FTP option if it opens for files my FTP users should NOT have access to :smileymad:

It's normal that you don't those folders in Windows as they are hidden and possibly not shared by the SMB/CIFS server.

FTP is another story and should not give you access to these folders. I can see them but I have no access to.

Please list the content of the folder you see
