directcopy
« on: July 05, 2010, 11:34:57 AM »

Evening all

Can the directcopy feature be turned off.  Every time I plug in my usb drive to backup the ts to it mounts is saying directcopy mounting.  Then the disk is on the go 24/7 and backup jobs dont run.  If direct copy is what I think it is. enable you to plug in a drive and it copying the data to the ts then all its doing it coping itself back to itself.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Lee

I thought that for directcopy to work, a step needs to be done like pressing the function button upon insertion of the USB drive?

Give me the model of your Buffalo product. I'll test it on my side and update you.

Hey man, this model does not have directcopy feature. I will test a few USB drives and connect to the NAS and see if same problem occurred on my side.

Thanks.  It never used to do this.  I even upgraded the fw to try and fix it.   Was wondering can you access the os and stop it?

Hey Itodd2,

What latest f/w version is your unit currently running on?

I've tested my sid and I don't seem to have the same problem.

Maybe if you could give me what f/w ur running so I can better rectify this issue.

Try a re-initialization in the GUI and see if that helps.
