USB NAS Drive power save options?
« on: June 12, 2010, 05:38:08 PM »

I bought a Seagate  FLEX TO GO 2TB USB drive to connect to my WZR-HP-G300NH. Connection was easy after I reformatted in Fat32. In doing that I lost all the software on the USB Drive.

The drive stays running all the time.

What does this mean?

"Caution

If the USB disk power has been stopped by the HDD power-saving function, the shared folder cannot be accessed and the USB disk will not be detected. In this case, disable the HDD power-saving function and remove the USB disk by clicking the [Remove] button. You can then reconnect the USB disk."

I'm thinking this means you have to go back into the menu and uncheck the box and then remove and reconnect.  That is about worthless!

Any suggestions on making my NAS USB drive have a power saving feature without the hassles presented above and make it simple?

Thanks,

Harold
