Drivestation Flex Net not working via usb
« on: April 07, 2010, 01:04:02 AM »

Ok i have searched all over the furoms and websites and cant seem to find a solution.

I have a Drivestation Flexnet with code; hd-ce1.0tlu2.

Whenever i try and turn it on, it doesnt quiet boot right, the blue light wont come on, or it comes on permnantly. None of my laptops with recognise it, both Vista and XP and neither does the ps3.

I have tried resetting it, and i have even plugged in an identicle model into my laptop to make sure its not my service pack, and that one worked fine, so im sure its the HD itself.

Does anyone know what i can do with it?

any help is much appreciated i really dont want to lose almost 1tb worth of data!

The unit uses a basic Windows USB driver.  Make sure you have your usbstor drivers in your OS.

Im not sure if they are, but as it works with other Buffalo hard drives i assume they are.

It could either be the USB interface or the Drive.  You can contact your local Buffalo support for an RMA.

ok well it seems it was to do with the updates i installed i believe. the update i downloaded i think that caused this was:

Microsoft - Other hardware - HID Non-User Input Data Filter (KB 911895)

so just watch out.

Are you going to the US site?  You have to use the Australia site.  All of our hardware and software is region specific.  Check your Private Messages:smileywink:

Try USF Explorer its rather cheap program that might help you get the data.  I still think that it might have something to do with the update with Windows.  If anything please call to get that RMA.

It reset's the LAN side functions.  See if you can put it in LAN mode and run the drivenavi.exe from the CD.
