Samba - multiple shares on one partition
« on: February 08, 2021, 10:03:15 AM »
I just purchased the Buffalo WZR-HP-AG300H router and updated the firmware to build 17135.  I have added a 1 TB USB drive to the router and I'm able to read to it/write from it.  Is there any way to create multiple directories and assign different access rights for each one (different samba shares)?

On your Mac, select the drive, folder, or file, then choose File > Get Info.

If the information in Sharing & Permissions is not visible, click the arrow .

If the key at the bottom right is locked, click it to unlock Get Info, then enter the administrator's name and password. bubble shooter

Click a user or group in the Name column, then choose a permission setting from the pop-up menu.

Read & Write: Allows the user to open the item and change the item.

Read-Only: Allows the user to open the item but not change its contents.

Write Only (Drop Box): Creates a folder in a drop box. Users can copy items to the drop box, but cannot open them. Only the drop box owner can open items.

No Access: Block all access to the item.

You can undo any changes to user or group privilege settings in the Sharing & Permissions section since you opened the Info window. Before closing the Info window, click the Action pop-up menu , then choose “Restore Changes.”
