What does iTunes Support mean?
« on: December 21, 2009, 05:16:20 PM »

I have a Linkstation Live and it says it supports iTunes for content sharing or something like that. What does that mean, does it mean that I could install itunes on it, have a shortcut on each of the computers in the house so that they all have the same library. Or do I still need iTunes installed on every computer and the "iTunes Support" just mean that iTunes can access the media on that drive?

What I would like to do is install iTunes on the NAS and have a shortcut on each computer, so that every computer has the same library no matter what. This way if anything is updated it will be updated on all the computers. I have all my media on the NAS. Thanks

You can put your files on your buffalo, and hopefully have itunes look to the mounted nas as the location of the files.  Then any machine on the network should be able to look to that folder that has been enabled for media server.
