Updater cannot find Linkstation
« on: September 28, 2020, 08:49:59 AM »
Once again same typical problem. I hope the possibility to a direct IP is added soon.
Is there anything I can do to make it find a station that really exists.
(I do not know how to attach a capture here, it just gives [im)/(/img])
My router is 192.168.18.1
My PC is 192.168.18.5
My Linkstation is 192.168.18.13
I can access files on it and I can open configuration on broswer.
But Updater cannot find it even itīs clearly accessible. HELP!

I can think of a couple of possibilities.

First is that the updater could be for the wrong device. If you try to use an updater for the incorrect device it will just return that it didn't find any.

There are also some network configurations that block the types of packets that the updater relies on (UDP broadcasts). This is typical of "mesh" wifi networks and some other complex setups that aren't typical in home networks (VLANs etc).
