TeraStation DISK error status
« on: November 20, 2009, 04:00:12 am »

Hi,

I'm getting the following email notification:

[TeraStationInformation]

TeraStationName: TERASTATION

Time: 2009/11/20 00:00:02

IP Address: 192.168.0.7

Setting Screen:

http://192.168.0.7/

Running Time : 10 days, 04:05:54

[HDD Usage Status]

RAID Array 1 Usage Rate : 350924040 kbytes / 729396352 kbytes (Usage Rate 48%)

[DISK error status]

DISK1 5

DISK2 0

DISK3 0

DISK4 0

The reply to a similar post has suggested that the disk with the error needs to be replaced.

Is this the best course of action and, if it is, what do I actually need to do?  Will I lose data?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Andrew

Depending on the raid that you selected. With raid 5 you should be OK after you replace the faulty Disk 1.  Check out our warranty page to see if we will get you a replacement with a valid receipt.  If out of warranty, go buy same size, speed, cache, of the faulty drive and replace it while device is off.  When you boot up, just go into the web gui and restructure the raid array with the new disk.
