Buffalo Terastation 3 Emergency Mode
« on: April 08, 2020, 01:07:27 PM »
I have just brought this back into service - or that was the plan :-(
I have fitted 4 x 2 TB spinning disks no partitions on them but probably mbr.
Firmware version 1.72.
I get a red LCD screen, NAS Navigator says it is in Emergency Mode and I can't connect via a browser, just times out.
I tried re-installing the firmware but the installer just says it's not necessary.

Any thoughts please? It needs to rebuild the array from scratch but I don't know how to make it do that.

  • There's no problem so bad you cannot make it worse

You should be able to proceed by enabling "Debug Mode" for the firmware updater and forcing it to create partitions/etc

Fantastic, thank you very much, I was able to get the updater into debug mode and that fixed it.
It came up in Japanese but I managed to fumble my way back to English.
Much appreciated!
