Linkstation LS210D0301 compatibility with MacOS Catalina
« on: January 27, 2020, 06:06:41 AM »
Hi,

Apologies if this has been covered on here before but I'm struggling to find much info on this.

Can someone pls inform me if updating my macbook to MacOS Catalina will render access to my Linkstation LS210 NAS useless? I'm currently using MacOS Mojave and NAS Navigator 2 with no problems. However, I've read things saying that Catalina only supports SMB 3 whilst my Linkstation is only SMB 1 and the NAS Navigator 2 app is 32-bit while Catalina only supports 64-bit.

If someone could provide some clarity on this and let me know what my options are, I'd really appreciate it.

thanks

There is a 64 bit version of NAS Navigator in the app store for MacOS. The LS210D does support SMB2 but it must be enabled in the settings.

Thanks Texturtle. But I thought Catalina only supports SMB3 and not SMB2?

I'm not sure about that, I can't seem to find good information. It appears that SMBv1 was definitely removed, as it should be, but I can't find anything that says version 2 was removed.
